UK Podcasters Association Terms

Preamble and Summary

UK Podcasters Association is a membership organisation which seeks to act in the interest of of its members as a whole.

Agreement

i. This is an agreement between yourself and UK Podcasters Association Ltd, 24 Molesworth Street, Hove
East Sussex BN3 5FL concerning UK Podcasters Association and your use of its facilities.

ii. All the while you use the facilities of UK Podcasters Association you are bound by this agreement.
iii. We reserve the right to make any changes to this agreement we deem necessary.
iv. Changes to this agreement will be at the sole discretion of UK Podcasters Association Ltd.
v. We will notify you of any changes we make via email.
vi. You must have a valid email address to use this service.
vii. Changes to this agreement will come into effect once we have sent notification via email.

1. Conditions of Membership 

Membership entitles Members the right to use UK Podcasters Association facilities only, and does not confer upon members any interest in or to any of the assets or property of UK Podcasters Association Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "UKPA")  or to participate in or to any of the profits of UKPA, which are returned to the company for the benefit of the membership as whole. As laid out in the Articles of Association, each members' liability shall not exceed £10.


2. Acceptance 

Acceptance to UK Podcasters Association is subject to meeting the requirement of having a valid email address and being either a citizen of or permanent resident in the United Kingdom of Great Britain or its overseas territories.


3. Age

UK Podcasters Association accepts members of any age; however those under sixteen years of age must provide proof by fax of their legal guardian's permission.


4. Membership 

Full Members shall be entitled to vote in such democratically held elections as are held from time to time that the consitution of the UK Podcasters Association allows. Members will be entitled to stand for elected posts as become available.


5. Member Services
 

Members shall be entitled to use UK Podcasters Association online facilities that are made available on that basis.

UKPA members have access to research conducted by UKPA and made available to it via its affiliates.

UKPA members receive advice by email on any topic relating to podcasting, professional questions, legal guidance, newsletters, and campaign updates.

Members can also access private data which members make available to the
UKPA community.


6. Annual Dues 

Commercial and Affiliate Members shall pay Annual Subscriptions in such amount and such times specified by UKPA.
Currently rates are:

£3 per month for private podcasters.
£120 per year for professional organisations, institutions, and commercial companies.


7.  Validity and Misrepresentation 

Contact details, telephone numbers, addresses and all other information submitted or supplied to UK Podcasters Association must be true and valid. Being a real person is a membership requirement.

 
8. Inappropriate Material  

UK Podcasters Association maintains a positive and broadminded approach to content produced by Members. Members will be notified if material breaches UK Podcasters Association's published guidelines. However, UK Podcasters Association reserves the right to remove members who are publishing any material that it considers illegal, offensive, or inappropriate.


9. Resignation  

A Member may resign from UK Podcasters Association by giving not less than 30 days' advance written notice to UKPA and by returning the Membership Card held by the Member, paying all dues and charges for which the Member is liable. Upon resignation, the Member shall no longer be entitled to use UK Podcasters Association facilities. Any Fees previously paid to UKPA are non-refundable. 

10. Termination of Membership 

UKPA may terminate the Membership of any Member whose conduct is, in the opinion of UKPA, inappropriate or constitutes a breach of UKPA Rules including failure to pay monies owed to UKPA as and when due. Upon termination, the Member shall no longer be entitled to use UKPA facilities. Any Fees previously paid to UKPA are non-refundable. 


11. Disclaimer 

UK Podcasters Association services are provided to you "as is."

UKPA uses its best efforts to maintain services, but is not responsible for the results of any defects that may be found to exist, or any lost profits or other consequential damages that may result from such defects. You should not assume that UK Podcasters Association website is error-free or that it will be suitable for the particular purpose that you have in mind when using it.

UK Podcasters Association references sites, recordings and information over which it has no control and as such makes no guaranties as to such sites and information, including:

(i) the accuracy, currency, content, or quality of any such sites and information, or
(ii) unintended and objectionable content.

Because some of the content on the Internet consists of material that is objectionable to some people, the results of your use of the website may unintentionally generate links or references to objectionable material. UKPA can make no claim that such surprises will not occur.

12. Variation of Terms & Conditions of Membership  

UKPA may from time to time alter, amend, modify, add to, vary or replace any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions of Membership. UKPA shall notify Members of every such alteration by email, and every such amendment, modification, addition, variation or replacement shall take effect on such date as UKPA may prescribe and shall be binding on all Members.
