| UK
Podcasters Association is a membership organisation which aims
to represent the interests and protect the rights of UK podcasters.
Basic membership is completely free.
By joining you will be able to influence the development of the
podcasting in the UK, and help to give UK podcasting a greater
voice. The UKPA monitors developments in internet rights globally and assesses the likely impact that regulatory changes will have on our members, taking action and lobbying where necessary. We also act progressively to promote podcasting and the understanding of this new form of media across the board.
Since April 2006 we have helped individual members in matters of music usage, copyright, passing off, cyber-bullying, intellectual property protection, fraud, defamation, credit control, contract infringement, career development, entrepreneurship, raising finance, and the extent of their right to free speech. All
UKPA members receive advice by email on podcasting, professional guidance, legal issues, newsletters,
and campaign updates as they occur.
Full
membership costs £3 per month (£36 per year) if you're a private podcaster, £120 per year for businesses turning over less than £100,000, and £250 per year for businesses turning over more than £100,000.
Full
members have access to research conducted by UKPA and made available
to it via its affiliates, partners and other national and international
podcast groups. Full members can
also access internal data which other members make available to
the UKPA community.
To become a full member you must first join as a free member.
